I've done a bit of metal working and old tool restoration. I've only done a little bit of welding and I'm looking forward to doing more metal fabrication!

Padauk handled Ax, marking knife and knife I made. Well I fixed up the ax so I guess I didn't make it from scratch.

Heat treating a machete that I gave to my brother as a birthday present.

Right after quenching the machete. I accidentally dropped it into the oil and since one side of it was on the bottom the blade quenched unevenly and had a bit of a curve to it.

I shaped the blade from a piece of O2 bar stock I ordered from McMaster Carr.

I fixed up my dads old hammer and gave it back to him as Christmas present. Details on this project can be found here .

This year I made the old hammer handle into a beer bottle opener and gave it him as another Christmas present.

I made a foundry for casting and heat treating.

I cast a chess set out of aluminum.

I used these styrofoam molds to cast the chess set.

Detail on the marking knife I made from scratch. Its supposed to be used to mark super accurate lines for woodworking. I mainly use it to open letters.

It sure is shiny though.
